Lot consists of: (A) Short sword with wide, slightly curved blade with flat faces; right side marked with a large "P" near ricasso. Brass guard with languettes and brass bird's head pommel with integral backstrap. Leather wrapped grip. CONDITION: Blade retains a grey patina with some minor losses to edge from sharpening during period of use. Brass hilt and pommel have been cleaned but now retain a mellow patina, languettes bent inward. Grip shows some losses to surface of leather wrap. (B) Model 1860 Naval cutlass. Blade dated 1862; standard configuration. Inside of guard stamped "11M / 696". CONDITION: Blade retains a heavy brown patina with corrosion overall, date is partially obliterated, some nicks to edges. Hilt retains a dark mustard patina with some denting to guard and a few scattered marks from use. Grip has lost all of its leather wrap and shows some chipping and age cracks.
