For a very similar example, see plate 54 on page 50 in the book "American Polearms" by Rodney Hilton Brown. The pike has a 6" long diamond section spike with a round, conical mount with integral 9-1/2" hand forged straps. The haft appears to be original. The iron head is hand forged in a crude manner consistent with American manufacture during this period. CONDITION: The head retains a dark patina with some corrosion and some deformation to one strap. Haft has some deterioration near joint at cone and on one side around strap, but appears to be original and retains a dark, dry patina.
