Original tricorn hats are exceedingly rare, and were popular for a relatively short window from 1750-1800. They are made of thick wool, and features cockade, velour edging, and ribbons. CONDITION: Good overall, some nap on ribbons and some high edge wear on liner. No leather sweatband, trace of what may have originally been a maker's sticker that is now illegible can be seen on interior of hat. Measures approximately 15" on each side, 4" tall. Hats like this are exceptionally rare with a very low survival rate and finding one intact makes it quite desirable.
RARE 18TH CENTURY EUROPEAN TRICORN HAT.
