The steel hilt of classic Highland form with nine bars, the two broad pierced with hearts and a cross. Ovoid pommel decorated with fluting. The hilt further decorated with lines. Fish skin grip with triple strand copper wire. One piece steel Turk's head at bottom. CONDITION: Blade is good but has been sharpened. Hilt is old polish on exterior, interior showing great age consonant with period of sword. Pommel polished. Underside of pommel showing great age en suite with hilt. Sword does not appear to have been disassembled in recent times, if ever. An excellent example of this rare and desirable Scottish sword.
