Consignor states these two unissued modified US M7 bayonets are experimental, and were made in the 1970s in an effort to be awarded a government contract. Both M7 bayonets are made by "Imperial" and the two M8A1 scabbards are made by "PWH" and "TWB". One of the grip panels have been removed from each bayonet, and replaced with the cast aluminum knuckle grip. The black finished handle is marked "3A" on the inside and the unfinished grip is marked "8A". The consignor has provided a 1988 dated drawing for a "experimental knucks knife bayonet - M16" which states these were made by a small manufacturing company in Kentucky. CONDITION: Unissued, and excellent to near mint.
