A remarkable regimental sporran in incredibly good condition for its age. The gilt bronze frame carries battle honors of the Cameron Islanders at Peninsula, Egypt, and Waterloo. Cast and chased in high relief together with Scottish thistles and two framing in copper. The body of red leather with six gilt tassels and horsehair covering. The hull is remarkably fine original untouched condition throughout. Maker's name R & H B Kirkwood, 64 and 65 Thistle Street, Edinburgh. Maker's mark represents Robert and Henry Bruce Kirkwood, smiths who worked from 1872 through to 1915. CONDITION: Excellent for its age. An extremely attractive piece of Scottish regimental regalia.
