The well forged head measures 21" overall, excluding straps, pierced blade 7 - 3/4" across. Central spike 13" and fluke 3". Overall length 82". Shaft covered with faded red velvet and decorative tassel below straps. Has brass tack decoration. CONDITION: Straps with old copper brazed repairs. Head shows exfoliation and old European style cleaning. A handsome period halberd. PROVENANCE: FORMER COLLECTION OF THE NELSON-ATKINS MUSEUM OF ART.
