William Pape Best quality percussion muzzleloading shotgun made in New Castle-on-Tyne, England. Damascus steel barrels with concave smooth rib marked "W.R. Pape New Castle-on-Tyne Winner of London Gun Trials 1858-1859& 1866". Fine scroll engraved locks and hammers marked W.R. Pape. Engraved steel hardware including a straight grip trigger guard with a gun and "Trademark" embellishment. Fine checkered English walnut stock with gold thumbpiece with owner's initials engraved on it. High quality aged muzzleloading shotgun. CONDITION: Overall good with most parts fading to a plum patina. Shootable bores with good mechanics. Wood has handling marks and checkering is worn flat.
