The deeply curved shinogi sukuri form blade with midare hamon and decorated with three he on each side, two thin and long, one wide and short. Hakago with eight character shumei in red lacquer, Tachi signed, three meguki-ana, one at base near jiri. Cracked ice pattern gilt habaki. Old iron tsuba. Handle with iron fuchikashura and copper menuki. CONDITION: Blade showing great age but no significant flaws and only minor shintetsu. Temper appears to be all there but details of point obscured, Nie distinctly visible under magnification. Sword would make for an excellent iato or would fill a space in a collection and possibly worth sending to Shinsa to verify authenticity of the shumei.
