Corners are decorated with .22 shells. Each shell is stamped with a trade-name. Eley was founded by Charles and William Eley in London in the 1820s. The Eley Brothers purchased the patent rights to the "wire cartridge" in the spring or early summer of 1828. After the war, Eley's, along with other firms, became part of Explosive Trades Ltd., soon part of Nobel Industries. There is no mention of Nobel on this board so it dates prior to 1939. Most likely 1910-20's. CONDITION: Near mint.
