Colt owned the gangster movies of the 1930-40's. Along with the Model 1911 and the hammerless automatics, another of the most famous guns used in that genre was the Colt Detective. This is a pre-war with the square but and silver monogram real ivory grips. Other standard features include six shot, fluted cylinder, exposed rod, and blued finish. CONDITION: This gun shows clean and honest holster wear along high edges and a light drag line retaining approximately 85% original blue with straps turning grey patina. The ivory grips are excellent with small chip at bottom right panel. Fine bore and action.
