Pottery charger painted by Paul Berthon (French, 1872–1909) depicts a lovely Art Nouveau maiden wearing Egyptian Revival style dress, her long flowing brown hair is held with a jeweled hairband with large orange poppies on each side, all set against an antiqued gold background. Signed on front "PAUL BERTHON", impressed on reverse with cross within shield, and "APT" below shield. Some very light scuffs to the gold background paint on one side near rim, two shallow flakes (each approximately 1/2") on foot on back side of charger, otherwise very good, painting of woman is excellent.
