Measures 25 - 1/4" by 31 - 1/4". Lovely framed cartridge board from Eley displaying their vast number of shotshell offerings in calibers ranging from 4 bore all the way down to .360. Top of with "Eley's Sporting Ammunition Central-Fire Gastight Cartridge Cases". Numerous cartridges are displayed in a variety of configurations, promoting various qualities such as waterproofing, gastight, compatibility with ejectors, and full brass hulls. 32 to 10 gauge shells are arranged in dual arches with flanking waterproof Pegamoid hulls over rows of other shells. with a central EBL Eley trademark on an off white background. Wadding has been worked into the rows of shells as well. Early wavy glass is possibly the original. CONDITION: Very good. Shells have a light age patina to brass and fading to ink stamps. Backing is very good with a some age related staining. Some of the wadding has come loose and could be carefully reattached. Frame is a replacement in fair condition with several areas rubbing, chips, and peeling of the wood. particularly at sides and bottom. PROVENANCE: From the collection of Nathan Posner, former owner of the San Francisco Gun Exchange and most recently on display at the Buffalo Bill Historical Museum of Cody, Wyoming. EW
