(A) English bowie knife with nickel silver crossguard, swell center handle frame of cast brass, and horn scales, inlaid with nickel silver escutcheon engraved "Inez Carrington". Clip point blade is unmarked but well ground and crisply defined. Original Moroccan leather sheath with nickel silver tip and throat. c. third quarter 19th century. CONDITION: Blade with light salt and pepper spotting, very lightly cleaned, sheath in superb condition. 8-1/8" blade, 12-3/4" overall. (B) Spear point bowie knife with brass guard, ebony handles with iron pins. Spear point blade stamped HILL, SHEFFIELD. With well made antique leather sheath that appears contemporary to the knife. Possibly by Isaac Hill of Westfield Terrace, this knife dates c.1850s-1870s. CONDITION: Lightly sharpened, with scattered tarnish. Blade 7", overall 11-1/2".
