(A) US SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1884 TRAPDOOR RIFLE.

Standard US issue military rifle. Block is stamped "US MODEL 1884". Lock has Springfield eagle. Other features include 1884 Buffington rear sight, integral bayonet, blade front sight, trapdoor buttplate, sling swivels, and full length walnut stock. The "SWP 1890" cartouche of Sam Porter is visible but light, as is the cursive "P" on wrist. CONDITION: All metal finish is a factory smooth blue drifting patina and clean with nearly full coverage. No colors present. Wood is excellent with usual dings. Sharp clean rifling and fine action. Should make for a great shooter.
