Ivory handle with pommel end carved with an unidentified man's bust; nickel silver guard, silver plated ferrule. Clip point blade with forged bolster and filework on obverse of spine, stamped on face of blade J. WALTERS & CO. GLOBE WORKS SHEFFIELD. No sheath. Circa 1850-1862; John Walters had entered the cutlery business by 1841 and in 1850 moved into the famous Globe Works. The firm had left the Globe Works by 1862. CONDITION: Blade appears unsharpened, and is dark with scattered spotting and some light scratches from a previous cleaning attempt.
