Lot consists of: (A) The first custom folder in this group is a small slipjoint, with a dropped point blade displaying its original edge and etched "Gaston" in an arch. The blade features a half stop, with good walk and talk. The brushed bolsters are complemented by dovetailed and pinned white Mother of Pearl scales, with a highly finished interior. CONDITION: The brushed blade exhibits side to side wiggle when closed, as well as a few light scuffs on the bolsters. 2-3/8" closed. (B) The second custom folder is a stainless steel slipjoint gentleman's knife, with a drop point and hand rubbed finish. The blade exhibits a half stop, the original edge, good walk and talk, and is well finished inside and out. CONDITION: The blade has light side to side wiggle in both the open and closed positions, with the scales showing light scratches. 3 1/8" closed. Ron Gaston of Woodruff, South Carolina was a knifemaker for close to 25 years when he passed away in 2006. A dairy farmer by trade, Mr. Gaston became an extremely prolific maker and was featured within many cutlery publications at the height of his career. A proud member of the Knifemakers' Guild, his knives are very well established and continue to be collected around the world. (C) The last custom folder features a hand rubbed drop point blade with swedges, its original edge, strong walk and talk and solid fit up. Blade is etched on the tang "R.O. Easler". The knife is well finished inside and out, and holds beautiful dovetailed and pinned fiery pearl scales against the plain bolsters. The rear bolsters feature a small lanyard hole. CONDITION: The blade has a light scratch near the tip on the mark side, a small nick in mark side bolster, and extremely slight wear marks around the lanyard hole. 3 1/4" closed. Russell O. Easler Jr., of Woodruff, South Carolina was a knifemaker for close to 35 years when he passed away in 2008. A member of the Knifemakers' Guild and a true gentleman, Mr. Easler's knives are known and collected worldwide.
