This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2019
Lot consists of: (A) A smaller drop point hunter, this classic knife features its original edge with hand rubbed finish on the blade and bolsters, as well as the maker's etch. The full tapered tang is complimented by mosaic pins holding well figured stag handles. No sheath. CONDITION: Unused but handled, there are several very light dings in the edge towards the bolsters, with a couple light scratches on the mark side bolster. The handles display significant shrinkage, resulting in a crack at the upper pin on the mark side. (B) A spectacular large guardless coffin bowie, this beast of a knife displays its original edge, "R.O. Easler Handcrafted" bear etch, hand rubbed finish on the blade and bolsters, and a full tapered tang with dovetailed ivory scales. No sheath. CONDITION: Unused, with one tiny stain on the sharpened edge towards the very tip, and very light handling marks on two of the four bolsters. The ivory displays moderate shrinkage, resulting in the material starting to pull away from the bottom bolsters, as well as some check marks at the edges. (C) A custom damascus bowie with a very light "R.O. Easler" mark. The knife consists of 1/4" thick blade, guard, collar and buttcap. Gnarly stag handles are set with red spacers, finished off with a brass pommel nut. No sheath. CONDITION: The edge has been resharpened, otherwise the knife appears unused. Russell O. Easler Jr., of Woodruff, South Carolina was a knifemaker for close to 35 years when he passed away in 2008. A member of the Knifemakers' Guild and a true gentleman, Mr. Easler's knives are known and collected worldwide.
