Lot consists of: (A) One of two medium sized fighters with both edges sharpened. The blades have their original edges, stylized "Montjoy" etch, hand rubbed finish on the blade and the swelled bolsters, accented by pinned burlwood handles with red liners. No sheath. CONDITION: The knife presents as new, with slight shrinkage of the handles with scuffs on the rear bolster. (B) Two of two medium sized fighters with both edges sharpened. The blades have their original edges, stylized "Montjoy" etch, hand rubbed finish on the blade and the swelled bolsters, accented by pinned green-dyed burlwood handles with red liners. No sheath. CONDITION: The knife presents as new, with slight shrinkage of the handles and a small nick on the rear bolster. Claude Montjoy of Clinton, South Carolina was a knifemaker for almost 30 years when he passed away in 2011 at the age of 74. A member of the South Carolina Association of Knifemakers, Mr. Montjoy was highly skilled in his craft, creating a large variety of styles and types including slipjoints, interframes, hunters and fighters.
