Lot consists of: (A) A wonderful trio of drop point hunters, the first sporting its original edge, hand rubbed finish on the blade and bolsters and stylized "Montjoy" etch. The fileworked and full tapered tang features dovetailed and pinned light burlwood handle scales with red liners. No sheath. CONDITION: The knife presents as new with minimal shrinkage of the burlwood scales. (B) The second drop point hunter features its original edge, hand rubbed finish on the blade and bolsters and stylized "Montjoy" etch. The drop-shaped handle, encompasses a fileworked and full tapered tang, with dovetailed and pinned highly figured dark brown stabilized burlwood handle scales and red liners. No sheath. CONDITION: The knife presents as new with minimal shrinkage of the burlwood scales. (C) The last drop point hunter features its original edge, hand rubbed finish on the blade and bolsters and stylized "Montjoy" etch. The fileworked and full tapered tang, dovetailed and pinned and colorful dyed burlwood handle scales with red liners complete the knife. No sheath. CONDITION: While the knife presents as new, there is slight shrinkage of the handle scales, with three light gouges on the mark side handle. Claude Montjoy of Clinton, South Carolina was a knifemaker for almost 30 years when he passed away in 2011 at the age of 74. A member of the South Carolina Association of Knifemakers, Mr. Montjoy was highly skilled in his craft, creating a large variety of styles and types including slipjoints, interframes, hunters and fighters.
