Early, c.1850s era pistol grip style California knife with ivory scales, wrapped around the edges in silver and featuring raised silver studs and a gold escutcheon on each side. The spear point blade features a full length swedge and a silver wrap at the ricasso. No sheath. The knife is completely unmarked which is typical of this early style, it may have been made by Price, Schintz, Kesmodel, or McConnell. CONDITION: The blade is extensively worn and shows power tool marks as well as sharpening scratches. The handles have a couple of age cracks but are sound.
