Lot consists of: (A) The "Jedediah Smith" model, this knife features an 01 Steel blade of 1/4" stock, with three stars stamped along the spine. Blade is marked "W K" with an anvil in between. The handle is comprised of beautifully figured stag with a nickel silver guard, ferrule and pommel. The ferrule is stamped BYDOC, the mark of LaDow "Doc" Johnston. No sheath. CONDITION: The knife presents as new with just a few spots on blade. (B) Known as the "Sweetwater" model, the D2 steel blade of 1/4" stock is marked "W K" with an anvil in between. The knife features a stag handle with nickel silver guard and ferrule. No sheath. CONDITION: The blade presents as new. The handle has a lengthwise crack on the reverse side. (C) A small double edged D2 steel dagger of 3/16" stock, marked with "W K" with an anvil in between. The blade is polished, with a Westinghouse ivory micarta handle in coffin shaped form. CONDITION: An unused knife with a couple of spots on the surface, which can be easily cleaned. No sheath. Walter L. Kneubuhler of Pioneer, Ohio was a knifemaker for over sixty years before he passed away in 1982. A true craftsman creating knives in the pioneer style and spirit, Mr. Kneubuhler's highly sought-after work is carried on today by one of his original apprentices, David Votaw.
