Rifle made by Samuel Smith of Cassville, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania circa 1850. Full octagon barrel with rifle sights signed "S. Smith" in script. Curly maple stock with brass hardware including four piece engraved patchbox with heart piercing and engraved sideplate. Four coin silver inlays. Percussion Golcher style lock with double set triggers with front trigger being lathe turned. Original striped hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Metal has aged patina with hammer on lock being a replacement. Mechanically sound. Wood has been sanded and has various dings and scratches. Patchbox side plate has added nail.
