The following pieces of US military gear have all had names added to them to enhance their value, while the items themselves are original, we are of the opinion that the names have been added post period. (A) Black leather briefcase, interior marked "Briefcase, Leather, Type VIII Class L", embossed on the flap "William F. Halsey, Jr" with Fleet Admiral insignia. (B) Black leather briefcase, interior marked "Briefcase, Leather, Type VIII Class 1", embossed on the flap "Jonathan Wainwright" with American Eagle. (C) Brown leather briefcase, interior marked "Briefcase, Leather, Type VIII", embossed on the flap "Omar N. Bradley" with General of the Army insignia. (D) Brown leather briefcase, interior marked "Case, Brief, Leather, Type VIII, embossed on the flap "Thomas T. Handy" with 4 star general's insignia. (E) Brown leather briefcase embossed on the flap "D.D. Eisenhower" with General of the Army insignia. (F) Vinyl hat box stenciled "Gavin", containing a field grade officer's cap with gold bullion oak leaves on the visor, sweatband embossed "Lt. Gen. J.M. Gavin". (G) World War II period US Army officer's cap with the name "Magruder, Bruce R" embossed on the sweatband. Contained in a composition hatbox. (H) US Army Field Grade officer's visor cap with gold bullion oak leaves on the visor. Interior maker marked "Luxenberg" leather sweatband embossed "Mark W. Clark". Contained in a composition hat box stenciled "Mark W. Clark". (I) Two World War II officer's caps: green wool top, interior with a "Bancroft" makers tag, leather sweatband embossed "A.C. McAuliffe" and white top cap with gold bullion oak leaves embroidered on the visor, "Anthony C McAuliffe General United States Army" on paper label in sweat shield. Contained in a composition case stenciled "A.C. Mcauliffe" on the lid. (J) White top US Navy Admiral's cap with double row of oak leaves embroidered on the visor, leather sweatband embossed "C.W. Nimitz". Contained within a plastic hat box. (K) Brown leather briefcase embossed on the flap "Thomas C Hart Admiral, U.S. Navy". (L) Brown leather briefcase embossed on the flap "Gen. George S. Patton". (M) Brown leather Pilots Navigation Kit, embossed "Captain James Stewart". CONDITION: Most items in very good to excellent condition, the leather cases with edge wear and showing moderate use. Most of the visor caps showing minor use. DG
