Standard three band Civil War Spencer Model 1860 rifle. Seven shot tube magazine fed through butt. This gun is very close by serial number to guns issued to the 5th and 6th Independent Companies of Ohio Volunteer Sharp Shooters. CONDITION: Metal retains a pleasing patina overall with some areas of light to moderate pitting on the receiver. Markings are worn but present. The last digit of the serial number on the receiver is a little hard to make out, however the number the barrel under the forend is nice and clear. Wood has been lightly cleaned and refinished at some point. Bore is fine with strong rifling. Good mechanical function. GR
