These were made in the late 1860's by converting standard 1863 pattern Civil War Springfield muzzle loading muskets. 1863 dated lock. 1866 dated on the top of the breech block. Three band configuration. CONDITION: All metal surfaces retain a pleasing age patina with some areas of light surface rust. This gun is in as found condition. All markings are clear. Fine mechanical function. Wood is dirty but solid. GR
