Original tang sight. Matching single digit serial number. Folding front sight. The rear sight dovetail in the barrel has a blank in it. Marked on the top of the barrel "MERIDEN FIRE ARMS CO. MERIDEN, CONN U.S.A./ U.S. AND FOREIGN PATENTS APPLIED FOR." This gun is in .22 S, L, LR. 24" octagon barrel. The Model 15 was Meriden's only slide action repeating rifle. It first appeared in the Fall of 1912 Sears catalog and featured an octagonal barrel with dovetailed front sight and folding rear sight, a blued finish, thumb safety, walnut stock, and crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Retains 85% original finish overall with the finish thinning on the magazine tube, some wear on the buttplate, top of the barrel and bottom of receiver. Light handling marks in finish. All markings are sharp and clear. Wood is fine with some light handling marks. Bore is fine with sharp rifling. Fine mechanical function. GR
