Standard model 1862 Navy carbine with leather wrapped barrel. This gun does not have any naval markings. Gun has been nickel plated overall with original case colors on the barrel lever. All matching numbers. CONDITION: Leather wrapping on barrel has some flaking as well as loss at the breech area, stitching is solid. Retains about 30% nickel plating mixed with a pleasing patina. Action is not in working order, appears to be missing the mainspring. The firing pin is stuck and looks to have been pounded a bit. Wood has some dings and handling marks, minor chips out along the lower tang. Bore has strong rifling with pitting. GR
