Lot consists of (A) 1898 rifle. Standard configuration. 1902 dated cartouche on left side of stock. Circle P proof behind trigger guard. 1904 dated Rock Island Arsenal leather sling. CONDITION: Retains a pleasing patina overall with some traces of original finish on receiver. All markings are clear. Wood is good with dings and handling marks, small crack in hand guard. Bore is very good with strong rifling. Fine mechanical function. Sling is pliable with strong stitching. (B) 1899 Model Carbine. All metal has been completely plated. The stock is a well done, but cut down, rifle stock with filled in cleaning rod channel. 1901 dated cartouche. Rear sight is neither "C" nor "R" marked. Three piece, incomplete, cleaning rod in trap in butt. CONDITION: Retains 90% of an old plated finish. All markings are clear. Stock is good, refinished. Good mechanical function, although bolt fit is tight due to plated finish. Bore is poor with rust and pitting. GR
