Made with a Kreighoff type locking mechanism this gun exhibits very high quality craftsmanship. Made with solid matted rib with steel front bead and sling swivels on bottoms. Long forend which is near fully checkered with engraved and coin finished Deeley release. Coin finished and floral and scroll scalloped action. Lovely straight grip buttstock is of French Walnut and checkered through the wrist in point pattern and terminates with a nice checkered butt. Made with double triggers, ejectors, and non-auto safety. "S" in gold in front of safety. Small button on right side releases locking mechanism. CONDITION: Very good to excellent as field used. Barrels with 80% original blue. Bores are very good with beginning roughness in front of chambers. Forend checkered has thinned. Action is excellent, springs are strong, mechanics are crisp. Buttstock with handling marks and checkering thinned. Overall a lovely high quality gun, though we are unsure who made it. CORRECTION: While stamped with St. Etienne proofs and of definite French form, this shotgun does have Belgian proofs and possesses some Belgian parts.
