Flayderman refers to these interesting pistols as "an enigma" and "these have not been adopted as an official U.S. martial arm." This example has no Waters markings, but eagle, US and P at breech. Stirrup rammer, brass fore sight, engraved hammer. Two piece walnut grips. CONDITION: Polished bright over medium pitting throughout. Grips have a later coat of varnish but only a few minor marks. Action is crisp. Bore is fair. A most interesting, possibly martial, percussion pistol listed under Flayderman's primary military single shot pistol section. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
