The round steeled barrel is deeply struck with JDJ P over US. The lock is struck with North, US with an eagle and CONN. The walnut stock is stamped with inspector EF and LS in an oval cartouche. Steel furniture of standard configuration. CONDITION: Barrel is very good with old dried oil obscuring possibly original polish. The lock is dark but with no significant erosion. The furniture has old dried oil, but very crisp. The stock rates excellent for one of these, with clear cartouche and old split through stock at butt does not detract. Action is excellent. The bore is fine. A good example of this most attractive early US martial flintlock.
