An interesting Kentucky style pistol with octagonal brass barrel bearing English proofs and barrel marker's initial RH. Signed on top flat "TRYON/PHILADELHPIA". Front action lock with sparse American style engraving, signed Tryon. Percussion hammer engraved en suite. Bolster type conversion to percussion. Remnants of flash pan remaining. Walnut full stock. Brass mounts, pineapple finial on trigger guard. Stock with tight crack at wrist, not through. CONDITION: Barrel is encrusted with old tarnish. Lock is extremely crisp, possibly retaining some original finish. Action is phenomenal. Stock has much original varnish. Side nail screws patinated brass with old tarnish. A very attractive Kentucky style pistol. Even retains original ramrod with brass ferrule and steel cleaning jag. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
