Made by George Tryon in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the early 19th century. Barrel is stamped "Tryon Philada" and has stamped asterisks behind and in front of signature and sights as seen on some trade rifles. "P" in circle proof at breech of barrel. "Tryon" marked flint lock with single trigger control. Walnut full stock with brass furniture. Pewter inlay on cheekpiece embellished with horse and rider chasing a deer. Silver thumbpiece inlay. Hardwood ramrod with threaded brass tip. CONDITION: Overall good condition with aged patina on metal parts. Wood looks to have some original finish left with minor usage and handling marks. Lock is a reconversion. Mechanically solid. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
