Tryon of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania manufactured rifle circa 1850. Tryon stamped octagon barrel with blade front sight and adjustable rear. Patent breech ignition system with two decorative silver bands. Henry Parker marked back action lock with double set triggers. Walnut wood stock with German silver furniture including finely engraved four piece patchbox with keyhole finial and five piercings. Checkered wrist carving. Eight German silver inlays including barrel escutcheon plates, oval thumbpiece, oval nameplate on toe and nicely engraved federal eagle on the cheek. Hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good condition with metal having aged patina. Wood has traces of high gloss original finish with light handling marks. Triggers are sticky. No visible restoration.
