With the strong Moravian influence in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, finding a firearm marked "BETHLEHEM" in this period is rare. Marked "I. Delany Bethlehem" on a inlayed silver plate on top barrel flat. Delany worked in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in the late 19th century. Rifle has an "R. Ashmore" marked percussion lock with double set trigger control. Octagonal barrel with rifle sights that is turned for a false muzzle and bullet starter. Patent breech percussion ignition and rear silver barrel band. Feather crotch grain walnut half stock with German silver furniture including an engraved lid type patchbox with the names "L. Gross" and "J.D.C. Womer". Checkered walnut wrist with silver thumbpiece. Stock has German silver furniture with iron nosecap. CONDITION: Overall good original patina with light handling marks. Mechanically sound. Missing false muzzle and bullet starter. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
