Kentucky rifle signed "P & D Moll Hellertown". Peter and David Moll worked in Hellertown, Pennsylvania in and before the mid 19th century. Rifled octagonal barrel with typical Lehigh style sights with two lines before and after each sight. Full plain maple stock with artificial striping and nice carved cheekpiece. Single bolt flint lock with single trigger control. Lehigh style brass furniture with two piece line engraved patchbox, pinched triggerguard and ramrod pipes. Replacement hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good aged patina on metal surfaces. Lock is reconversion. Wood has been cleaned and sanded with added coat of finish. Crack in wood in front of lock plate. Several dings along forestock. Mechanically sound. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
