11 - 1/4'' x 17'' x 2 - 1/2'' Deep. Circa 1935. Set No. 1536. Box lid has one corner split. Trace of staple rust, mostly on the plain box bottom. Lid has additional scattered light wear/ aging. Still quite nice overall. Box is complete with insert that holds the pieces in place. This has moderate scattered wear and small scattered rust spots/ stains. Train consists of 7'' L., wind-up painted metal engine, 4'' L., coal car with attached Mickey figure and three different 6'' L., tin litho train cars. The engine works and comes with original key but front has opening for light bulb which is no longer present. Key even comes in small original illustrated envelope noting it can also be used as a ''Rail Gauge.'' Front of engine has three .5'' areas of paint loss, and an additional small trace of paint wear on back edge. Coal car has composition figure of Mickey from the waist up and he holds a shovel. This figure is designed to move up and down as if he is shoveling as the train travels around the track. Back is marked ''Mickey Mouse Stoker.'' Tin car has moderate scattered trace of paint wear. The three train cars each have a different title and these are ''Mickey Mouse Circus/ Mickey Mouse Band/ Circus Dining Car.'' All have scattered tiny traces of paint wear but remain clean and feature great images. Set includes eight sections of curved track and two sections of straight track. There is a 5'' T., painted composition figure of Mickey as a circus barker. This has moderate scattered paint wear. The die-cut cardboard accessory pieces include large circus tent with separate pieces for flagpole and Disney characters as circus performer, gas station with ''Sunoco'' pumps, Sunoco billboard, barrel truck, ''To The Circus'' piece featuring Mickey and Minnie, and ten 5-cent admission tickets. Scattered general wear from assembly. The circus tent top has one section loose and one tab loose both with tape repair. The entire set shows general wear from use but remains fine overall. A true classic for both collectors of Disneyana and train sets. Rarely offered as a complete set.
