Likely made in the late 1860's or early 1870's, this is a well made side by side. Made with "Fine Laminated Steel" barrels with plain concave top rib and steel type inlaid in gold. Full length ebony rod. Sideplates are nicely scroll engraved with makers name around hammers. Made with double triggers. Straight grip one piece stock is nicely checkered in point pattern through forend and two point pattern through wrist. Long trigger guard tang is also engraved. Full steel buttplate with elongated tang at heel which is nicely scroll engraved. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel retains nearly all of a restored brown pattern. Stocks are very good and retain most of an ancient restored finish with subsequent handling marks. Metal has turned mostly gray. Mechanics are fine.
