Great Britain ordered large numbers of New Service revolvers for the Army at the onset of the First World War, most of which have numerous British inspector marks. During that same period, a number of these guns were also shipped to Canada for the police. The back-strap on this gun is stamped "RNWMP" with number 1341. It does not have any visible Canadian proof marks. It sports a standard 5 1/2" barrel, six shot double action, blue finish with Colt hard rubber logo grips with lanyard ring. CONDITION: This early gun has the desirable high polish factory Colt blue finish. There is some thinning along edges of barrel, overall high edge wear and scattered minor age freckling with patina straps but still retains at least 75% of the original bright polish.
