Made by the American Machine Works in Springfield and Chicopee Falls Ma. Approximately 30,000 made and one of the most widely used weapons of the Civil War. .50 caliber percussion single shot breechloader with iron mountings, sling ring and bar on left side of frame, blue barrel with case color frame. Has a 21 5/8" part octagon barrel, folding leaf rear sight, single band and walnut stocks. CONDITION: Metal is all gray patina with age spotting. Stocks are very good with usual impressions and some added varnish. Legends are sharp. Most of the screw heads are marred. Bore is sharp and clean.
