The barrel is of standard 1836 configuration stamped at breech US, JHP. The lock with American eagle and shield has no maker's mark or date. Screws with inspector's mark "K". Flayderman lists this as the "variant eagle marking" model. Lock mark ahead of hammer only with an awkward eagle with shield on breast, with no other markings present." The likelihood is that this is a special militia contract. Stock has none of the usual inspectors' marks. CONDITION: Overall good with no significant pitting on metal. Stock with extra coating of varnish but maintains full dimension. Action is crisp, bore is good. A most interesting American flintlock martial pistol.
