Civil War New Model 1863 Carbine altered to chamber the .50-70 centerfire cartridge. Starting in 1867 the Sharps Rifle Company converted over 31,000 percussion carbines to the .50-70 breech loading configuration. CONDITION: Military inspection stamps barely visible, overall clean blue / grey patina, clean bore with good rifling.
