Made by John Nichols and Dan Lefever when they were in partnership, these are high quality early American doubles. This gun, of about "E" Grade quality, though appears unmarked. Made with Laminated barrels, makers name and address on concave smooth top rib. Splinter forend with engraved latch at tip is checkered in point and diamond pattern. Action is lightly border engraved and has thumb push opener. Ball grip buttstock has been heavily repaired with brass plates through grip and terminates in full steel buttplate. CONDITION: Good. Barrels retain about half of their original pattern. Action has turned mostly gray with no color remaining. Buttstock with period grip repairs at grip retains most of an older restored finish and chip at toe. Forend checkering is still mostly visible. Bores are good with a few very light scattered pits. Mechanics are functional.
