Springfield made trapdoor rifle cut down from a rifle with 1873 dated breechblock with undated lock with correct markings. Aftermarket carbine wood with inlets for special sights. Non-original buttplate. "R" marked rear sight. Blued finish on all metal parts. CONDITION: Reapplied finish on all metal parts fading to a dull blue. Unfinished wood with light handling marks. Good mechanics with shootable bore.
