Made by the Massachusetts Arms Company of Chicopee Falls between 1857-61. It is a five shot, .36 percussion double action based on famous Kerrs and Adams patents, and so stamped. Approximately 600 of these were procured by the US government and referred to as the Navy model with 6" octagon barrel. Both of the checkered walnut grip panels have US inspector stamps. The left grip appears to be that of Lucius Allin and right grip possibly Wm Thornton. There is a single military inspector single letter stamp on metal "T". CONDITION: This is one of the better examples of this scarce US revolver you will find. It retains at least 50% of the original factory blue with the balance blending to a soft patina. All legends are razor sharp. The walnut grips are excellent with sharp checkering. The action indexes correctly and the bore exhibits strong rifling. A really fine US revolver.
