Both of these pistols are of early high polish era. Lot consists of (A) Made in 1908, with the longer 4" barrel with flat bushing, patent on left side but Browning no longer mentioned, Type 1 sights, Type 1 Colt rubber grips and early checkered magazine release. The magazine is early full blue, pinned base with no caliber markings. CONDITION: The trigger, safety and screws still retain majority of their original fire blue finish. The straps are a soft patina while balance of metal shows edge wear but still retains at least 85% of the original factory high polish blue finish. Fine bore and action. Grips are excellent as well. (B) Fire blue trigger, safety, and screws but the barrel is now the standard 3 - 3/4". Patent date still on left side of frame but no Browning name. Early flat barrel bushing and checkered magazine release and still has Type 1 sights and grips. Magazine is full blue, pinned base with no caliber stamp. CONDITION: The rear strap is soft patina. The slide shows wear with some freckling but still retains approximately 70% original factory blue finish while the frame remains at about 90%. The grips are fine. This great pistol still retains most of the desirable fire blue finish. The bore and action are nice. This pair of fine pistols show the transition of the early Model M.
