This model is referred to as the "improved" 1952 rifle and features a 24" round barrel with ramp front sight and two-leaf folding rear sight, caliber .30-06. Other features include: double-set triggers, butterknife bolt handle, blue finish. This a deluxe model with the oak leaf pattern, hand carved pistol grips, half stock with black forend tip and grip cap with black composite buttplate. The carving is found on forend, pistol grip, and left side of stock. Rifle comes with European type sling swivels. This rifle also sports quick detachable side mounts of the Griffin & Howe style with a Redfield 2-7X scope. CONDITION: The metal retains approximately 98% of the original high polish factory blue finish, with exception of the foreplate, which is an even mix of gray patina with flashes of finish. The stocks are excellent, with usual minor handling marks. The action is as smooth as silk. The bore is sharp and clean. The optics are fine. These rifles were built in Austria utilizing the famous Mauser action and are considered some of the finest bolt action sporting rifles ever manufactured.
