The 68" military style barrel with two rings of typical English military pattern, but no visible military proofs at breech. The banana shaped lock with typical English military pattern with military acceptance stamp, crown, and IORDAN 1747 at tail. Military style furniture. Stock is of classic early first modern long pattern shape, only much larger. CONDITION: Barrel is deeply patinated, with minor pitting throughout, and uncleaned. Lock with some wear to British crown stamp. Iordan 1747 very clear. Cock an improper replacement. Frizzen and one frizzen spring screw are modern replacements. Steel trigger guard is an incorrect replacement. Stock is pieced just behind first ramrod pipe. Rear of stock is good, with no major damage. Side plate of steel likely an old replacement. Action works well. Bore is fair. Altogether a most interesting extra-long Brown Bess style musket which would appeal to the collector of British military flintlocks or anyone who desires an enormous flintlock musket in his collection.
