Lot consists of (A) 1903 US Springfield. The SA barrel is dated 1-29 and the serial number matches the year of production. The rear sight is 2700 yard model with knurled and dished knobs. Proper walnut two bolt stock with wide finger groove. The stock is original but all the cartouche stamps have been worn or taken off. There is a rack number stamped on comb. Other features include smooth buttplate, swept bolt and all milled parts. CONDITION: ME reading is 2, TE reading is 3. Action is fine. Comes with a 1916 RIA stamped leather sling. Rifle is in excellent shape, both wood and metal. (B) 1903 Mark I Springfield World War II rebuild. The SA barrel is dated 11-19 and serial number puts frame at 1920. The stock has been changed to World War II type with no finger grooves, World War II rear sight, pitted swept back bolt, smooth buttplate, barrel is import stamped, matte World War II metal finish. Cartouche not visible. CONDITION: ME reading is plus 2. TE reading is 7. Stock is fine. Metal retains most of its reapplied later finish. Comes with web NOBuckl sling.
